About Liz

Hello, I’m Liz.
I’m a counsellor and psychotherapist, and I offer a space to pause, reflect, and begin to make sense of what is happening in your life.

My Background

My work is shaped by over 30 years of experience supporting people across a range of settings, particularly those navigating complex, and at times marginalised, life experiences.

Before training as a psychotherapist, I spent many years working within education and pastoral roles, supporting both young people and adults. This foundation continues to inform my understanding of how people adapt, cope, and make sense of their lives over time.

Alongside my private practice, I continue to work within the education sector, supporting mental health and wellbeing.

How I Work

My approach is thoughtful, relational, and shaped by the understanding that each person’s experience is unique.

Rather than applying a fixed way of working, I pay attention to what feels most important for you, allowing our work to develop in a way that is responsive and meaningful.

Together, we may explore patterns, emotions, relationships, and life experiences, gently building understanding over time.

At times, this may also include noticing the inner world more closely, including thoughts, imagery, or dreams, where these feel relevant.

Areas of Interest

I have a particular interest in:

• neurodiversity, wellbeing, and sense of self
• identity and life transitions
• grief, loss, and emotional processing
• relationships and relational patterns
• spirituality, meaning, and purpose

I have a particular appreciation for working with those navigating periods of change or threshold moments in life.

I believe therapy is not only about being heard, but about having the space to understand yourself more fully.

I value quiet reflection, time in nature, and meaningful conversation, and these qualities often shape how I work.

Professional Practice

I am a Senior Accredited member of the BACP and a registered member of the ACC.

I work in line with their ethical frameworks and engage in regular supervision and ongoing professional development to support safe, thoughtful and effective practice.

Training & Qualifications

I hold a Master’s degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, along with postgraduate training in counselling and interpersonal skills.

My ongoing professional development includes areas such as relational working, trauma awareness, and therapeutic approaches that support emotional processing and psychological flexibility.
